Karachi Pakistan – Nurture Environment Wellness NEW is a new startup making waves in Pakistan with its innovative plantation as a service model. The company aims to connect industries with environmental sustainability goals and help them contribute to reducing carbon emissions by planting trees. NEW works with industries to meet United Nations Sustainable Development Goals such as climate action life on land and sustainable cities.

Founded in 2020 NEW is led by Jawwad Ashraf who is the CEO and director. The board also includes Muhadis as Director of Operations Ali as Director of Community Engagement and senior consultants like Dr Muhammad Farrakh Nawaz an environmental science expert from the University of Karachi. The team combines young energy and professional expertise to deliver a model that is new to Pakistan but has seen success in Western countries.

The way NEW works is simple but effective. Companies set targets for greening and tree planting and NEW manages the entire process through a network of service providers. They also provide transparency reports to show the impact of plantations on carbon reduction. The company charges a small service fee of around 2 percent on every project to manage operations and ensure accountability.

Despite the clear benefits the startup has faced many challenges. Service-based environmental models like theirs are not common in Pakistan. Many companies do not understand how outsourcing sustainability can help them meet environmental goals. There is also a trust gap and limited awareness about climate action and corporate responsibility. Jawwad Ashraf explains "We have to start from scratch and educate companies about why planting trees today can help them in the future. Our model is completely new for Pakistan and that makes convincing partners a slow process."

To overcome these struggles NEW runs community outreach programs and pilot plantation drives to show tangible results. They have started small projects with schools and urban areas to demonstrate the impact and slowly build credibility among corporations. The hope is that over time more businesses will adopt this service-based approach and see the value in integrating sustainability into their operations.

Jawwad Ashraf says 'Our goal is to convert sustainability promises into real action and make environmental responsibility easier for companies. We want Pakistan to become greener and more climate resilient while helping businesses achieve their SDG targets."

NEW is still growing but it is setting a precedent for environmental entrepreneurship in Pakistan. By bringing transparency accountability and a clear service structure NEW hopes to make plantation as a service a common practice for industries across the country.
